Contractor: Roman Roads Limited
Scheme: Electronic Barrier and Car Park Ticket System. Demolition works and construction of new parking facility.

Acting as main contractor to the N.H.S. Trust, Roman Roads has recently completed two prestigious civil engineering contracts totalling £500,000 at two of Birmingham’s main hospitals - City Hospital and Heartlands Hospital.

The brief at Heartlands Hospital was to create 50 new staff parking spaces at this busy site. The work included demolishing an old boiler house,
excavating existing hard standing areas and installing new kerbs and drains prior to the final stone preparation and asphalt surfacing of the car park.

At City Hospital, Winson Green, the main contract was to install a new barrier controlled pay and display ticketing system prior to the resurfacing of existing car parks and footpaths. Approximately 1,000 metres of trenchwork and ducting was required to house the cabling for the new facility.
